Architect 2016 in February

The launch of Architect 2016 took place in Colombo last week.

President, SLIA, Archt. Harsha Fernando, Senior Vice President, Archt. D.H Wijewardena, Vice President and Chairman, Exhibition Committee, Archt. Bernard Gomez, SLIA Council members, Past Presidents and officials were also present.

The sponsors of this year's exhibition were presented tokens of appreciation.

The launch of the official website of Architect 2016 was followed by a demonstration of the online stall reservation system.

Architect 2016 will open on February 16, 2016 followed by the National Congress on February17. The exhibition will be open to the public from February18-21 from 10 am to 10 pm.

The exhibition will have 332 stalls and 156 display panels of work done by architects and 36 panels of major projects. The re-designed layout will feature a more cohesive public access and participation, making it more attractive for the building trade.

One day of the exhibition will be dedicated for schoolchildren to educate them on various aspects of the construction industry.

Awards will be presented to the best stallholder and for the best display panel.

The annual conference of Architect 2016 will feature themed presentations on architecture by a panel of local and international architects. The event will culminate with a fellowship night.

The annual Architect's exhibition has evolved into one of the most sought after platforms for the public to educate themselves on the latest products and services available in the construction industry.

The Architect 2015 trade exhibition featured 175 companies occupying 304 stalls and exhibiting the latest products the industry has to offer. Over 45,000 people visited the exhibition.
