An interesting read

The Wonderful Gem and Sigiriya,(sponsored by the National Library Board) is a story of how Sajini went to Sigiriya with the fairies. The fairies gave her a wonderful gem which makes her invisible so that she can see the castle without being noticed. Sajini saw many wonderful things. But accidently the gem falls through her hands.

It is an interesting story which children will enjoy and get some knowledge about Sigiriya. This book and its Sinhala adaption are now available at bookshops.

Minion saves young girl

A young girl is lucky to be alive after falling from a third-floor window and police said a minion from Despicable Me saved her life. The five-year-old girl was playing in her bedroom in her third-floor apartment when she fell through the window.

As she fell, the little girl managed to keep hold of her stuffed minion toy which helped cushion her fall. She was discharged from hospital with a broken arm but fortunately with no other injuries.
