Abdul Kalam held in Tamil Nadu on July 30. O. Panneerselvam, Minister of Finance of the Tamil Nadu State Government is also in the background.

Award for Silumina: Silumina journalist Inoka Samarawickrama won the Upali Wijewardene Features Writer of the Year Merit Award (Sinhala) at the Annual Journalism Awards for Excellence organised by the Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Press Institute.
