Isipathana enter U-15 quarter finals

A determined 84 in 99 balls with eleven fours and two sixes by Dilsara Shaminda and a five wicket haul by right arm off spinner Isira Mudalige took Isipathana College to the quarter final stage of the schools under 15 division one cricket tournament beating De Mazenod College by 60 runs in the pre -quarter final game played at St John's College ground in Panadura last Wednesday.

Asked to bat first Isipathana were tottering at 40/4 in the ninth over when Dilsara Shaminda (84) and Thuwan Kaliq (46) came to the team's rescue with a 126-run stand for the fifth wicket.

De Mazenod's batsmen got off to a flying start scoring 117/1 in the 18th over before Isira's five wicket haul dashed their dreams of being among the final eight teams.

The Isipathana under 15 division one team led by Anupama Herath comprises of Thuwan Khaliq (vice captain), Dineth Induranga, Shamilka Dushan, Dilsara Shaminda, Manisha Rupasinghe, Ashen Imesh, Isira Mudalige, Dinath Dissanayaka, Saveen Dantha, Sohan Bandara, Leshan Amarasinghe, Sudeepa Angulugaha, Pathum Wickremasinghe, Ashen Lakshitha, Chalana Ayeshan, Danusha Pothupitiya and Chathumin Amarasinghe.

The team is coached by Pradeep Nushantha, Jayathu Nilweera, Kelum Ratnaweera and Akila Madhusanka
