Memons T20 in Sri Lanka

After the successful inaugural T20cricket tournament held in Colombo in February 2013 , the much awaited second edition (MPL 2) has been planned once again by the Far East Chapter of the World Memon Organisation (WMO) in Sri Lanka from August 24 to 30.

Six teams are scheduled to participate from six Chapters namely Africa, Europe, the Far East, India the Middle East and Pakistan.

The sponsors of the tournament are Phoenix Industries as the platinum sponsor and Expo Freight (EFI) being the Gold sponsor.

Former Sri Lanka cricketer and and ICC Elite Panel umpire Asoka de Silva will be the match referee for the entire tournament.

WMO President Sulaiman Noor Mohammed will be the chief guest at the final.

The six teams are divided into two groups.

The teams will arrive on August 21 and will be playing some warm up games prior to the commencement of the tournament on August 24.

The final will be played on August 30 at the Premadasa Stadium starting at 1..15 pm.
