Shreepati Edifice to build Lanka's tallest building

One of India's biggest Real Estate Development Groups Shreepati Edifice (Pvt) Ltd signed an agreement with the Board of Investment to construct a mixed development hybrid project - 1996 Iconic Tower with an investment of US$ 330 million

The high-rise iconic tower will be a landmark as the tallest building in the country.

The tower will comprise the ground floor and 96 floors with an approximate height of 363 metres when completed with 376 residential apartments, 92 penthouses and modern amenities such as entertainment facilities, business centre, swimming pool, gymnasium, spa, outdoor yoga and sky decks. Work on the tower is expected to be completed within 48 months.

The structure of the building will be tubular and a tribute to the Sri Lankan cricket team, which won the World Cup in 1996.

Chairman, BOI, Upul Jayasuriya and Directors of the Shreepati Group, Rakesh Chandra Pandey and Rajan Sirivastav signed the agreement. The state-of-the-art iconic tower will be constructed on a two-acre block of land at Rajagiriya which has been leased out to Wills Realtors (Pvt) Ltd by the Urban Development Authority.
