Auction website from TradeHuts

The first-ever bidding website, TradeHuts was launched in Sri Lanka recently revolutionizing online trading under the tag line - bid it, buy it, sell it.

Taking inspiration from hugely successful overseas models such as Ebay, TradeHuts will provide a local platform for third parties including a second hand market.

Founder Dinal Gooneratne said that they hope to change the way people buy and sell, through their web trading tool.

"Though we have a few avenues to buy at present and they are not very effective. This platform is for new and second hand goods as well creating a healthy market for second hand items," he said.

The bidding process takes place on an online platform benefitting the buyer and the seller.

Locally owned and operated, TradeHuts aims to tailor its services to the Sri Lankan community and as a first step will be open for buyers and sellers within Colombo. It hopes to extend the service throughout the island within the next three months.
