Amil Group builds Chetiya

The Amil Group of Companies built a Chetiya at the Samadhi Buddhist Centre at Ratmalana to mark its 30th anniversary.


President Mathripala Sirisena, Chairman, Amil Group, Walter Abeysundara and Aaditya Abeysundara at the Samadhi Buddhist Centre at Ratmalana.

The Kotha to adorn the Chetiya was presented by the Chairman, Amil Group, Walter Abeysundara who unveiled it recently. President Maithripala Sirisena was also present.

Walter Abeysundara's grandson Aaditya Abeysundara led the proceedings under the guidance of the chief prelate of the Temple, Ven Mapalagama Buddhasiri Thera.

Directress, Amil industries, Heshini Samarakoon said she and her family have been allocating a fair sum of the company's revenue for CSR activities for many years.

"Our company's CSR activities are aimed at improving the standard of living in society and uplifting religion and art. The object of this program was to inspire future generations to engage in noble causes such as these," she said.

"We come from a family that is dedicated to social service. My husband, the Managing Director of Amil Industries too holds the same view.

"We will continue to indulge in CSR activities for the betterment of society," Samarakoon said.

The Amil Group comprises building construction company Amil Builders, Amil Industries and Amil Janitorial Services. Amil Industries manufactures swing and sliding gates.
