Nawaloka Construction enters global market

Nawaloka Construction Company has undertaken a contract to build a hotel in the Maldives.

"We are stepping into the global construction market with the building of a five-star hotel in the Vakkaru Island valued at US $ 60 million. EFZY Holdings (Pvt) Ltd has awarded the contract to build the hotel to our company," Chairman, Nawaloka Construction, Jayantha Dharmadasa said.

"The hotel which will have 120 villas and a luxury spa, will be designed and built by us. The project would position the Nawaloka Construction Company as an international construction company and will be held in high esteem in the Maldives for future construction projects," he said.

"We look forward to winning contracts in Cambodia and Myanmar with the confidence placed on us by the Maldivian investors," Dharmadasa said. Nawaloka Constructions has executed road sector projects throughout the country including Colombo, Jaffna, Trincomalee, Ampara and Kalutara. It has won many accolades including the National Excellence Award nine times from 2005 to 2014.
