Zahira Soccer Sevens on October 17

The Past Prefects Association of Zahira College, Colombo will organize the Zahira Super 16 Soccer Sevens for the 11th consecutive year on October 17 from 8:30 a.m onwards at Zahira College Ground,Colombo.

An additional Sevens tournament for eight emerging schools called the Emerging Soccer Sevens was held yesterday and the winner qualified to play in the main tournament.

The Zahira Super 16 Soccer Sevens will be on a league basis of four groups. Based on placing in the first round, teams will be drawn into four categories in the second round for the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield Championships.

The Cup winners will according to the organizers be entitled to Rs.50,000 and total cash awards worth over Rs. 500,000 will be on offer.

The schools contesting the event are Al Aqsa College Kinniya, Al Adhan College Badulla, De Mazenod College, Hindu College, Manipai Hindu College Jaffna, Maris Stella College, Royal College, St. Benedict's College, St. Joseph's College, St. Mary's College Kegalle, St. Peter's College, St.Thomas' College Matara, Wesley College, Zahira College, Zahira College Gampola and winner of the Emerging tournament.
