DPL gifts RO plant to Parangiyawadiya

The Hayleys Group of Companies launched its seventh Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant on Friday, November 20 in Parangiyawadiya, close to Horowapothana in the North Central Province (NCP).

The project funded by Dipped Products Limited (DPL) will provide clean drinking water for over 1,250 people in the village. An estimated 56 cases of CKD have been reported from the village.

The project launched under the Puritas Sath Diyawara banner, is the key Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative undertaken by the Hayleys Group at a cost of Rs. 35 million.

To date six villages have been provided with clean drinking water benefitting over 10,000 people.

Chairman and Chief Executive, Hayleys Group, Mohan Pandithage, Directors, Group Management Committee Members, senior management of the Hayleys Group and government officials were present.

Puritas Sath Diyawara CSR project aims at reaching out to the people of the North Central and Northern Provinces affected by CKD, by providing purified water, livelihood development activities, promoting appropriate health and sanitation practices and awareness and knowledge dissemination.

In its commitment towards further enhancing the well-being of the villagers of Parangiyawadiya, DPL will lay the foundation for a community library, parallel to the launch of the RO plant.
