Jaffna International Trade Fair from Jan 29-31

The Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF 2016) will be held from January 29-31 at the Municipal Grounds in Jaffna.

The trade fair comprises local and international stalls catering to a diverse variety of needs and services. In 2015 the event attracted over 60,000 visitors. It is a focal point for a wide spectrum of investors.

The Jaffna peninsula has among its natural riches and resources a vibrant community filled with human resources which could be harnessed through events such as this, a spokesman for the organisers said.

The infrastructure development underway in the region has also paved the way for many investment opportunities in the region which could not be afforded previously.

The regions, roads, electricity, bridges and all other core facets are currently being developed. The exhibition will feature the construction, hospitality, food, beverage and packing, automobile, ICT industry, financial services, apparel, agricultural, consumer goods. Many past repeat exhibitors have sighted this expo as a 'gateway to the north'.

The organizers have planned many concurrent events during the 2016 edition, including musical evenings with popular artistes, road shows before the expo, carnival and amusement park.

The main sponsor is Ideal Motors. Mobitel is the telecommunication partner, the power generation partner is Sicher and the Beauty Care Partner is 4Ever. The education partner is ICBT - Jaffna campus. Uthayan and Suder Oli are the print media partner (Tamil) and radio partner is Tamil FM.
