NDB, JLL and LFSUS to help under-served
A tripartite agreement was signed by Janamithu Lanka Limited (JLL)
with the National Development Bank (NDB) and Lanka Financial Services
For Underserved Settlements (LFSUS) to disburse Rs. 10.0 mn in loans
among 87 low-income families comprising 363 people in the South through
the JLL branch network to improve the condition of their houses and to
develop infrastructure facilities to create better living standards.
The NDB Bank provided a loan to JLL under a credit guarantee provided
by LFSUS to encourage the banks to lend to low-income settlers and make
them bankable. The agreement was signed at the LFSUS Secretariat
recently. Chairman Chandula Abeywickrema, General Manager, LFSUS, Gamini
Swarnapala, Chairman JLL, S. W. Kiriarachchi and Director Sonal
Kiriarachchi and NDB officials were also present. |
