Mahith shows future promise



Mahith Jayasumana

Nine year old Mahith Jayasumana from Lyceum International School Gampaha has shone as a promising table tennis player to be ranked among the top four best players in the under-10 boys category which augurs well for a bright future.

Mahith is also ranked number two among the under 10 best ranked players in the Gampaha district.

He has exhibited his well controlled fore-hand smashes and excels in the top-spin which he has done to mesmerise many players and is also sound in defence.

The youngster with lot of promise became the champion at the under-12 boys singles all Island TT tournament at the Jaffna Central College Indoor Stadium recently. Having started playing the popular indoor sport just two years ago he won the under-12 and under-15 All Island Novices Championship with impressive performances and is coached by former Sri Lanka national player Lalith Perera.
