Confab on bilateral trade between Lanka-Norway
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a
seminar on bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Norway on January 20
from 3-4.30 p.m at the Chamber auditorium, D R Wijewardene Mawatha,
Colombo 10.
Norway's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Thorbjourn Gaustadsaether will be
the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by Admin Counsellor Hans
Jensrud and Senior Advisor of the Norwegian Embassy, L. Wijenathan.
Following the Norwegian Foreign Minister's visit to Sri Lanka,
recently, there are many areas of business open for Sri Lankans. There
is potential for renewable energy, solar power, the fisheries sector and
opportunities for investments in Sri Lanka by way of FDIs. Exports to
Norway are mainly apparel and gloves. Imports from Norway are fertilizer
and machinery mechanical appliances.
Members will get an opportunity to meet the Ambassador and officials
of the Embassy and get information on business with Norway and other
services in Norway.
Norway is known as the 'land of the Midnight Sun' a picturesque
country with old world charm surrounded by mountains, glaciers, with
museums and historic buildings of the 10th century Viking age. |
