Finance Minister off to China

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake left for China on Friday to participate in the Executive Board meeting of the Asian Infrastructure and Industrial bank (AIIB).

The bank with 56 member countries was set up in 2015 and Finance Ministers and the representatives of the member countries participate in the executive board meetings.

The AIIB is another financial institution which provide aid for developing countries. Sri Lanka's future plans will be considered at this board meeting held from January 16 to 18. A team of top Finance Ministry officials accompanied the Minister.
