‘Assignment’

Hiru of cologne-nawa ran into fresh trouble last week after she went on a D-tour with a young politico of the Sabaragamuwa province. The duo had gone together on an ‘outstation assignment’ in the same vehicle. However, the young and vivacious lady later got an earful from her husband when the latter got to know about this new ‘entanglement’. Hiru’s husband was livid at the fact that his newly wedded bride had the audacity to run away on an outstation ‘assignment’ with a young politico, while keeping the rest of the world in the dark!

Wrestling Blues

Blue party blues are never ending and at the centre of the storm is the party Central Committee which is now turning out to be like a South Asian branch of the World Wrestling Federation.

A heated verbal battle between a hefty Well-gamer from Kalutara and Oh-litha from Katana nearly ended in fisticuffs at the Committee meeting last week. Oh-litha’s attempt to assault the hefty gamer from Kalutara was prevented by their colleagues who foresaw its repercussions!

Political Brat escapes

A ‘political brat’ linked to another Ma-hinder hailing from the southern tip of the island was among the group of Colombo 7 college boys who jumped into the backyard of a leading girls’ school by the Beira lake.

The cops who arrested the group got the shock of their lives when the political brat revealed his father’s name! Out of fear, the cops made a ‘back-door arrangement’ to send the ‘political brat’ home while friends remained in custody.

Interestingly, four security guards of the Minister-father arrived at the Police station to take the ‘brat’ home safely, without any media fanfare.

Running in the Family

N-Upamaa of a certain ‘royal’ family tried a last-minute vettu with the FCID when she refused to appear before the Police unit to give a statement over an alleged hanky-panky.

She informed the FCID that if they wanted to record a statement it should be done at her private residence.

Her vettu resembled a similar one by the lady of one of her very high-profile cousins who dodged FCID questioning some months back.

However, it became all too evident that the tendency to dodge Police questioning was something running in the family!
