Shippers' Academy Colombo training program on March 12

In a competitive world, mistakes in the supply chain cost companies dearly. These mistakes could be in marketing, documentation, operational aspects and due to ignorance leading into duplication, delays, cost and time.

The Shippers' Academy Colombo in its Global Manager series capacity-building initiative will conduct a master class in preventive and corrective measures to educate the shipping, logistics and trading community.

The master class is a first time training program that will give an insight into common mistakes that are made by people involved in the shipping and logistics industry.

Three senior industry experts from APL, Maersk Lanka and Evergreen will give presentations in areas of documentation, operational aspects and marketing. Reducing errors and handling operations will certainly help to cut down cost and help exports and imports to be engaged in a seamless process. These documentation processes will help shipping lines and service providers to deliver better customer service and banks and other third party service providers too will increase efficiency and reduce transaction costs in international trade. The half day workshop will be held on March 12 from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and will be held at the Sri Lanka Institute Development Administration (SLIDA) Colombo 7.
