Fashion Bug refurbishes Kalubowila ward

The refurbished ward and main name board were handed over to

Fashion Bug, completed yet another CSR initiative when they
refurbished a ward at the Kalubowila Hospital."We initiated the
Kalubowila hospital ward project in 2014, and since then have renovated
the ward, adding wash rooms and donating an LED TV and chairs to the
ward," said Dr. S H M Faraaz - DGM Fashion Bug.
The hospital's main signboard was also replaced.
Fashion Bug is also involved in several other hospital CSR projects,
which include the Maharagama Cancer Hospital, Eye Hospital and Ragama
North Teaching hospital.
Among its CSR activities are the all island career guidance programs,
the Roo Siththam art competition, drinking water project that was
completed and presented to Ovitigamuwa Maha Vidyalaya, donation of a
computer unit at the Thumbe Kanishta Vidyalaya, sponsorship of the
Dhammikka Kithulgoda Scholarship Foundation are some of them.
."Each Fashion Bug outlet works closely with its community. We have
close links with community centres and religious communities of all
religions and actively participate and contribute to all their events. A
part of the profits generated from a branch in a particular area are
channeled towards the CSR project of that area, our customers who
patronize that particular outlet are beneficiaries of that project and
work with us", Director Fashion Bug, Shabier Subian said.
S-lon initiates drinking water project at Pahiyangala Temple
S-lon
Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, fulfilled a long-felt need of the Pahiyangala rock cave
temple, by making drinking water accessible to Bhikkhus and the laity
who visit the temple in large numbers. The project was inaugurated by
Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous
Medicine.
The project was initiated by S.C. Weerasekera, Group Director of The
Capital Maharaja Organisation Ltd. The Pahiyangala temple in
Bulathsinhala in the Kalutara district is not only regarded as Sri
Lanka's largest cave but also said to be among the largest natural rock
formations in Asia.

Ven. Pahiyangala Chandima Thera, chief incumbent of the temple, said
S-lon Lanka had fulfilled its corporate social responsibility and
thanked S-lon Lanka for making water accessible to the 50 bhikkhus
attached to the vihara and devotees who climb the mountain rock
especially on poya days.
The event was coordinated by Shiraas Mohomad, Manager Product
Development and the Plumbers Club S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, and members of
the S-lon Plumbers Club.
The team completed the project in a short time. Ven. Pahiyangala
Chandima Thera praised him for his enthusiasm over the project and said
it was a great service to the social-religious development of the
community.
This initiative was organised by C. Weerasekara, Group Director of
Capital Maharaja Organisation Ltd.
Ranjan Liyanage, Sales Director Ms. Shalinie Navaratne, Manager
Business Development and Trade Marketing and the staff participated at
the inauguration ceremony. |
