Matchstix app introduced to Lanka
Matchstix, Sri Lanka's new smartphone app will help thousands of Sri
Lankans to establish new friendships and connections.
The app was introduced to the Sri Lankan market at the 'Ignite the
Spark' launch party at Park Street Mews recently, attracting fans,
users, socialites, celebrities and VIPs.
The free Matchstix app helps registered users to link with people by
matching similar interests and locations. When signed in, Matchstix uses
advanced location-based software with GPS-positioning to locate similar
people in a given geographical location. The app is available in English
and Sinhala and as Android and iOS versions, thereby enabling it to
reach out to a wider audience across the island.
Users only need an active SIM card, a smartphone and a Facebook
account to sign up on the app. They can download the app, instal it and
register to start making connections. After setting a few personal
preferences, users could find fellow Matchstix users with similar
interests in nearby areas, for them to reach out to them through the app
and build new connections.
Marketing Manager of Mobimedia, Klara Grintal said, "Sri Lanka has an

for social interaction, efficient communication and sharing in the
personal lives of people in Sri Lanka."
"We are offering a creative, modern, safe and localised medium that
will help anyone to meet new people in a new way, ignite their spark and
find love or new friendships. Sri Lanka seems ready to reweave its
social fabric in innovative ways and we are proud to be a part of it,"
she said. |
