e-passbook from ComBank

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has broken new ground in technology-enabled convenience by becoming one of the first banks in Sri Lanka to offer customers an e-passbook that provides details of savings, current, NRFC and RFC accounts on Android and iOS powered mobile devices.

A breakthrough digital virtual mobile application offered free by the Bank enables account holders to have a real-time view of transactions of the past 30 days on their mobile phones or tabs anytime, anywhere.

The app, which updates automatically whenever the user is online, also stores the last view of the e-passbook on the user's mobile device, making it possible to see it even when the phone or tab is offline, a Bank official said.


GSK website for doctors

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pharmaceuticals has launched an online information resource for medical professionals in Sri Lanka.

Accessible to doctors who register and receive a username and password, is the first dedicated website for healthcare professionals by a pharmaceuticals company in Sri Lanka.

Designed to support doctors in their daily practice by providing information, the website provides 24-hour access to information on all GSK products marketed in Sri Lanka, the latest company news and other medically relevant information.


Energy exhibitions at SLECC

CEMS-Global - Conference and Exhibition Management Services Ltd., USA and CEMS Lanka, the multinational exhibition organiser since 1992, will hold the international power exhibition again in Sri Lanka - the 14th 'Power Sri Lanka 2016 International Expo' to develop power generation and transmission, alternative power, solar power, energy and renewable energy sectors in Sri Lanka and also the Con-Expo Sri Lanka 2016 Int'l Expo - an international exhibition on construction materials, method, equipment from March 23-25, at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo.

Concurrent exhibitions, the 12th Renewable Energy Sri Lanka 2016 - Int'l Expo and the ninth Solar Sri Lanka 2016 Int'l Expo.will also be held on the same dates.


Info for exporters

The National Chamber of Exporters (NCE), with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), conducted a follow-up awareness seminar for exporters to disseminate information on the producers and products in the North.

The objective of the Local Empowerment for Economic Development (LEED) project was to promote inclusive economic development of people in the Northern and the Eastern Provinces, creating employment and long-term sustainable livelihoods. It recognises the important role of the private sector especially, the export sector to achieve these objectives.


Three couples were picked as the winners of the grand draw at the conclusion of the Beko promotion at selected Singer outlets around the country recently. The winners could watch world-famous Spanish football club FC Barcelona – with footballing superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez - in action at the iconic Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, Spain. The prizes include return air tickets to Barcelona, accommodation, transport and tickets to the FC Barcelona game that weekend. The draw was conducted by the Management of Singer Sri Lanka. Officials of the Department of Revenue - Western Province were also present. Here a winner with the prize.
