Advantis Projects and Advantis Engineering were awarded the International
Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series certification or OHSAS
18001:2007, by DNV.GL recently. General Manager, Advantis Projects, Shadil Rizan
said, “We have carried out a number of mega projects with zero incidents and
have maintained a high health and safety track record over the years. The OHSAS
certification helps us reinforce our commitment to our employees and customers
that we care about their well-being and their business.”
In an industry such as transportation and logistics, health and safety
violations are identified as leading factors contributing to productivity loss.
An incident can contribute to a reduced number of working days, delays in
delivery, insurance costs, clean-up and repair costs, compensation and other
associated costs.
The OHSAS certification ensures that all employees of Advantis Projects and
Advantis Engineering are trained to carry out all operational activities. In the
event of an incident, all employees including the head of the company, have been
fully trained to activate programs that will minimise and mitigate any further
adversities.
The OHSAS certification also needs a full set of manuals outlining the processes
and responsibilities in case of an incident. Advantis Engineering and Advantis
Projects, formerly known as Logiventures (Pvt) Ltd, are fully owned subsidiaries
of Hayleys Advantis Limited, the transportation and logistics arm of Hayleys
PLC. |
