Kids Dreams
My ambition is to be a doctor

I am Moshitha Induwara. I study in Grade three at Regent International College,
Gampaha. My dream is to be a doctor. The idea came to me after visiting my
family doctor with my mum. People respect and like him a lot. Doctors help many
people and do a great service to the community. I will study hard to achieve my
dream. Hard work and dedication is the path to success. I hope my dream comes
true.
I want to be...

I want to be a doctor,
Treating so many patients,
Earning so much money.
I want to be a teacher,
Teaching so many children,
Guiding them on the right path.
I want to be an architect,
Drawing so many plans,
And planning so many buildings.
I want to be a citizen,
Working for my country,
With love, pride and respect.
Sahan Randika Waragoda,
Grade 8G,
Royal College, Colombo.
A doctor does a great job

My name is Sachini Hansanee. I study in Grade Eight at Bandaragama Maha
Vidyalaya. My ambition is to become a doctor and help the poor and the sick. I
will provide free medicine to the poor. A doctor does a great job to the society
by saving people's lives. I will study hard to become a doctor. My favourites
are English, Science and Mathematics. I hope my dream will be true one day.
I want to be an Aalima

My name is Sumaiya Nafath. I am studying in Grade Four at Golden Gate
International School, Beruwala. My ambition is to become an Aalima one day. An
Aalima is a person who studies Islamic Sciences in-depth and attains reading
fluency in classical Arabic. After I become an Aalima, I will share my Islamic
knowledge with others. I will study hard and pray to Allah to help me achieve my
dream.
Hope, wish, fantasy….
Call it what you may, everyone dreams of being someone or doing something
different when they grow up. Some dream of being astronauts, rocket scientists,
space explorers… Some dream of being clowns, comedians and running away to a
circus. Still others wish to be lawyers, doctors, cricketers or superstars.
The sky, as they say, is the limit to your dreams… But what’s the fun if you
keep it all to yourself? So why not put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, and
share with us what you dream of being when you grow up? You can mail your
dreams, along with your photograph to [email protected] or send it by snail
mail to ‘Junior Observer’, No. 35, D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.
