SLT launches flood relief program
Sri Lanka Telecom Group launched a natural disaster relief program with the
Ministry of Digital Infrastructure to provide relief to those affected by the
inclement weather.
The Group has planned to donate to the President’s Fund and a majority of its
employees and the SLT Mobitel staff decided to donate one day’s salary for the
cause.
The Minister and Deputy Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure
have decided to donate their one month’s salary to this fund. Accordingly, the
entire group will donate Rs. 10 million for the purpose.
SLT has decided to provide 24 hours free information services on disastrous
situations and relief providing initiatives through the Government Information
Centre.
All SLT offices throughout the country will remain opened for relief providing
purposes and collecting goods to be distributed among the victims.
