Union Bank emerged Mercantile "E" division Knock Out Champions
beating Mobitel 71 - 55 . The bankers who are new comers to the
Mercantile Basketball circuit did well to match the experienced Mobitel
team and finally beat them convincingly. There was a keen tussle in the
2nd quarter where Mobitel were leading by 3 points, however UB did well
to bounce back in the 3rd quarter to build up a healthy lead and win in
the final quarter.
The team was led by Dhananjayan Wijendra, the leading scorers for UB
were Clifford Shenal, Hasitha Wijerathne and Shehan Perera. |
