38th Sunday Observer Schoolboy Cricketer show: Stage set for the
grand finale

The stage is set for the grand finale of the 38th episode of the
Sunday Observer/ Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2016 at the
Galadari Hotel Ball Room on July12th. The final selection of the players
who have performed prominently during the last school cricket season and
who are eligible to be recipients were selected by a distinguished panel
comprising officials from the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association, Sri
Lanka Cricket and members from the Association Of Cricket Umpires Sri
Lanka. (ACUSL)
The selection has been done strictly on merit based on the 2015/2016
performance of the school cricketers . The umpires included the one’s
who stood during the last school cricket season who could be the best
judges to select the most suitable candidates.
The selection panel included the president of the SLSCA and the
principal of Royal College, Panadura Sarathchandra de Silva and the
president of the ACUSL Hirosha Gunatileka.
The others who were present at the meeting were Carlton Bernadus
(Head Of Domestic Cricket SLC), Assignment secretary ACUSL Ravi Bandara,
Sena Nandaweera ( VP ACUSL), Saman Mohan ( Ge. Sec. southern province),
Dilshan de Silva ( Selection Committee Chairman Junior National
Cricket), J.K.Indrajith ( Under 19 tournament secretary), Kapila
Jayalath ( Secretary SLSCA), Keerthie Gunaratne (Junior Selector), and
Manjula Vaas ( Treasurer SLSCA). Kumara Gamhewa CEO/ Chairman of
Batsman.com provided the statistics.
