Reigning National Mixed Doubles champions Medhira Samarasinghe and
Sanka Atukorala teamed up to beat Amritha Muttiah and Yasitha de Silva
3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a closely fought Open Mixed Doubles final at the SSC
Open Tennis tournament played at Maitland Place.
On the previous day, Medhira partnered her FedCup and South Asian
Games team mate Amritha and cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Shalini
de Silva and Shenalie Weerasekera in the Open Women's Doubles final.
Earlier in the tournament Medhira beat Anika Seneviratne in three sets
in the Girls Under 18 finals and finished the Championships with three
titles. |
