Media veteran Athaudahetti ITN chair

Media veteran and long-time Media Secretary to UNP Leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Saman Athaudahetti, has been appointed as Acting Chairman of the Government-owned Independent Television Network (ITN).

In addition to his long tenure as media relations coordinator to the party leader and premier, Athaudahetti has been in the Sinhala media field as a scriptwriter, novelist, lyricist, travel writer and producer over a 40-year period. Previous ITN Chairman Hemasiri Fernando has relinquished his post due to the press of other work, government sources said.
