Mathews, Chandimal to undergo fitness test today

Sri Lanka’s captain and vice-captain Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal will both undergo fitness tests on Sunday morning prior to the third ODI against England at Bristol today.

Chandimal followed Mathews in picking up a hamstring problem at Edgbaston and did not keep wickets in the second half of the match.

Keeping options is one thing Sri Lanka are not short of, but they can ill-afford to lose Chandimal’s batting. Mathews did not move freely when batting and was unable to bowl at Edgbaston. Sri Lanka trail 0-1 in the five-match series after England won the second ODI by ten wickets on Friday.
