SL Economic Summit next month
The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2016 to be held from August 2 to 3 at
the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo, will discuss the country's economy in
length and depth, a Ceylon Chamber of Commerce official said.
The chief guest will be President Maithripala Sirisena. Finance
Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Central Bank Governor, Dr. Indrajith
Coomaraswamy will deliver the keynote speeches at session 1 on
'Accelerating Growth, Pushing for Performance'.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with three resource
people, CEO of Pemandu, Malaysia, Dato Sri Idris Jala, former Deputy
Governor of the Central Bank, W. A. Wijewardena and Chairman of IPS,
Professor Razeen Sally.
Chairperson of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Ranatunga
will deliver the welcome address, while the former Chairperson Suresh
Shah will moderate the panel discussion of the first session.
The annual event, which attracted 450 top executives last year, falls
in line with some of the Chambers key principals, such as creating a
market oriented and a private sector led economy, an economy based on
competitiveness, driven by exports, attracting quality FDIs and making
Sri Lanka a preferred investment destination. |
