Final decision tomorrow:
The SLFP Parliamentary group in the Joint Opposition (JO) is scheduled
to meet tomorrow (August 22) to take a final decision as to whether they
would participate or not in the SLFP party convention, UPFA Gampaha
District MP Prasanna Ranatunga told the Sunday Observer yesterday.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said the Office of the Missing Persons (OMP)
Bill has been duly passed as it was in order and was legally valid. It
is the Joint Opposition’s (JO) contention that the OMP Bill was not
properly passed in Parliament.
Unity Government turns one year:
Exactly one year back on August 21, 2015 history was created in Sri
Lanka, politically, when the two main parties reached a consensus to
govern and make the country prosper, together. This was a fresh
experience for the people.
