SL-benelux Business Council office-bearers

The 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka- benelux Business Council (SLBBC) was held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently.

The Council, which focuses on promoting investment, trade and joint venture between Sri Lanka and Benelux, is one of the twenty-one bilateral business councils that functions under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Trade Representative of Limako Suiker Bv, P.M. Abeysekera was elected as President of the Council for 2016-2017. He said the Council is heading towards its 25th year of service next year emphasised and the need to be pro-actively support trade, investment and tourism within the Benelux companies in Sri Lanka.

The SLBBC will serve as a recognized representative of business interests in Sri Lanka.

Director, Mercantile Produce Brokers (Private) Limited, Deepal Jayamanna and Director, Promising Products Company, Dr E. M. B. Daniel were appointed Vice Presidents and Managing Director, Mahaweli Reach Hotels Ltd., Jayantha Panabokke, the Immediate Past President.

The Executive Committee comprises Nigel Austin of Nisol Diamonds (Pvt) Ltd, Sega Nagendra of Travelserve Limited, Mahen Kariyawasan of Andrew The Travel Company (Private) Limited, Ranee Ratnayake of A and A International (Opticians), Sajith Wijenayake of Aitken Spence Travels (Pvt) Ltd and Derrik Williams of Walkers Tours Ltd (John Keells Holdings).
