Chinese Ambassador to speak on bilateral trade
Ambassador for China, Yi Xianliang will be the guest speaker at a
seminar on 'Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and China' organized by
the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka on Wednesday, August 31
from 3 to 4.30 p.m. at the Chamber auditorium. Commercial Counsellor of
the Chinese Embassy, Wang Yingqi will also be present.
Participants will get an opportunity to interact with the Ambassador
of China and the officials of the Chinese Embassy at the session. China
is the world's second largest economy, largest exporter, and the 2nd
largest importer in the world. China is the 14th most valuable export
market for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka's exports to China in the recent past
show upward trend reaching USD 293.05 million in 2015 from a mere USD
25.64 million in 2006.
Sri Lanka's imports from China have also increased from USD 630.55
million in 2005 to USD 3731.64 million in 2015. |
