'Lanka, Pakistan have tremendous scope for better trade'
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have tremendous scope to further strengthen
bilateral economic and trade relations,Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq
Dar told his Sri Lankan counterpart Ravi Karunanayake in Islamabad
yesterday.
Ishaq Dar said the Pakistani Government will fully cooperate to
expand bilateral economic ties.
Finance Minister Karunanayake congratulated Ishaq Dar on the
successful hosting of the SAARC Finance Ministers meeting and said that
decisions reached at the meeting will further strengthen the SAARC
process.
He appreciated the economic performance of Pakistan over the past
three years.
He said the South Asian countries can learn a lot from the reform
efforts in Pakistan, which have not only stabilized the economy in a
short span of time but also put it on the path of growth.
Meanwhile, Director General Frontier Works Organization, Major
General Muhammad Afzal and Finance Minister Dar at a meeting in
Islamabad reviewed progress of the ongoing projects of FWO especially in
the energy and transport sectors.
