Rebirth of Sana
A collection of great people:

Sanat Dikkumbura |
‘Rebirth of Sana,’ an exhibition of drawings featuring the
visionaries who changed the world, will be held at the Colombo Public
Library on August 27 and 28 from 9 am to 5 pm on both days.
The painter Sanat Dikkumbura first entered the field of arts through
high profile stage plays under the tutelage of Prof Ediriweera
Sarachchandra wherefrom he won a State award for the play Sekkuwa.
Subsequently, he won an award for Jayantha Chandrasiri’s ‘Mora’ as well.
Through ‘Rebirth of Sana,’ Sanat hopes to portray outstanding people
and thinkers that helped project a ‘different world’, such as writers,
visionaries, dramatists, theoreticians and others who became prominent
in their chosen fields.
His exhibition will also feature paintings of giant visionaries. Some
are Maxim Gorki, Leo Tolstoy, Socrates, Galileo, Aristotle and Bertrand
Russell.
‘My main focus will be on such great personalities while the rest of
the paintings will feature general art’, says Sanat. ‘These are the
people that I respect and they helped to somewhat design the world that
we live in. They were trendsetters in their own way and famous for their
swimming against the current’, he says. |
