ASPI ends week bearish despite foreign buying
It was an overall bearish week for the Colombo Stock Exchange. The
ASPI closed at 6539.09 down by 0.18% compared to the previous week with
the S&P SL20 closing at 3599.94 up by 0.42%. ASPI recorded a year to
date loss of 4.78% as at weekly closure.
The turnover levels for the week decreased by 6% and the aggregated
weekly turnover was Rs. 4.77 billion. The foreigners appeared to be
bullish during the week having recorded inflows of Rs. 2.51 billion;
resulting in a net foreign inflow of Rs. 945.18 million. The year to
date net foreign outflow stands at Rs. 2.98 billion.
The top three (03) positive contributors to the ASPI during the week
were John Keells Holdings PLC (Rs.153.00, +1.32%), Textured Jersey Lanka
PLC (Rs.42.10, +5.25%), Hemas Holdings PLC (Rs.97.00, +2.65%). Further,
the top 3 negative contributors to the ASPI were Ceylon Tobacco Company
PLC (Rs.885.10, -3.37%), Nestle Lanka PLC (Rs. 2,250.30, -1.30%), CT
Holdings PLC (Rs. 122.80, -5.54%). |
