Anverally & Sons won the award for 'Highest Value Added Exporter -
Tea Sector' for 2015, at the Presidential Export Awards ceremony
organized by the Export Development Board (EDB) recently.

I have achieved in ensuring that customers receive the best quality tea
at a competitive price," said Mohamed Anverally, Chairman of Anverally &
Sons (Pvt) Ltd.
"In all our tea exports the highest standards are sustained to
guarantee that only the premium leaves, highest quality packing
materials and ingredients are used," he said.
The product range of Anverally Tea is wide and varied, consisting of
tea in packets, bottles, bags, and in metalized pouches, iced tea and
the latest introduction is instant premix tea.
"Our brands include Tea 4U, specially designed for the European and
Russian palate and consisting of over 80 different flavors, Anverally
Tea is a popular brand in the North African region and Sultan Tea is
popular in Africa," a company spokesman said.

The company's manufacturing facilities consist of over 200,000 sq.
ft. of world-class facilities that follow quality and food safety
programs along with state-of-the-art blending, tea bagging, packaging
and an in-house laboratory, the spokesman said.
*Jacobi Carbons
Jacobi Carbons Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (JCL) won the Presidential Award for
Highest Foreign Exchange Earner in the Non-Kernel Product Category for
2014 and 2015 at the 20th EDB Presidential Export Award Ceremony at the
BMICH recently.
Jacobi Carbons is a Board of Investment (BOI) approved company which
manufactures coconut shell-based, activated carbon products for the
export market.
Country Manager, Jacobi Carbons Lanka, Rasanga Adikara said it is a
great achievement for the company. "Our strategy is to become the number
one such exporter in 2020."
JCL exported 20,620 metric tons and 19,900 metric tons of activated
carbon in 2014 and 2015, bringing in USD 35 million (Rs. 5.1 billion).
The activated carbon is used for wide range of purification and
adsorption applications such as, drinking water purification, air
purification, cigarette filter carbons, decolourization including food
grades, pharmaceutical applications, gold and precious metal recovery
and many other toxic and non-toxic chemical adsorption and purification
purposes.
JCL exports include, high precision and microgranulated activated
carbon, acid wash activated carbon, impregnated activated carbon,
catalytic activated carbon and powdered activated carbon products. |
