Kids Dreams
by Husna Inayathullah
Hope, wish, fantasy….
Call it what you may,
everyone dreams of
being someone or doing
something different when they
grow up. Some dream of being
astronauts, rocket scientists, space explorers… Some dream of being
clowns, comedians and running away to a circus. Still others wish to be
lawyers, doctors, cricketers or superstars.
The sky, as they say, is the limit
to your dreams… But what’s the
fun if you keep it all to yourself?
So why not put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, and share
with us what you dream of being
when you grow up? You can mail
your dreams, along with your
photograph to husnakghs
@yahoo.com or send it by snail
mail to ‘Junior Observer’, No. 35,
D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha,
Colombo 10.
I will strive to become a General Practitioner
My name is Dilip Krishanand and I am 13 years. I study at Nottingham
High School, England. I am in Year Nine and I will strive to become a
successful doctor, following my mum’s footsteps. After I become a
General Practitioner, I also wish to set up a business using my dad’s
expertise. My main reason to become a doctor is to experience the
pleasure knowing you helped save lives.
I yearn to become a fashion designer
My name is Kashvi Krishanand. I live in Nottingham, England and I
study at Nottingham High School. I am 11 years and I am in Year Seven. I
would like to become a fashion designer one day because I am interested
in art which is my favourite subject. I think I will make a good
designer because having a talent for art is definitely considered a
skill to take up that career. My favourite fashion designer is Ted Baker
London. I hope my dream comes true.
I want to be a cricketer
My name is Kapil Krishanand. I study at Nottingham High School in
England. I am nine years. I am in Year Five. I would like to be a
cricketer when I grow up because I love cricket a lot because my grandpa
was good at it . I wish to play for any cricket team, especially the Sri
Lanka team.
My ambition is to be a doctor
I am Pavithra Babu. I study in Grade Nine at St. Anthony's Girls’
College, Kandy. I love to study science and that is the reason why I
want to be a doctor. I like to help people who are in pain. I am
studying hard to achieve my ambition. I hope my dream becomes a reality
when I grow up. |
