A leading chocolate brand in Sri Lanka and the flagship chocolate
brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), Ritzbury has come forward to
sponsor the 86th Sir John Tarbet (Senior) School Athletic Championship
to be held from September 13 to 15 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in
Diyagama, Homagama.
The three-day meet, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics
Association (SLSAA), will see over 3,000 athletes from 350 schools
across the country.
Students from under-20, under-18 and under 16 are eligible to take
part in the senior championship, and the entries are open next week.
Ritzbury will also power the Sir John Tarbet Junior Athletics
Championship which will be held from October 22 to 25 at the Mahaweli
Stadium, Embilipitiya. This year's junior meet will draw more than 6,000
athletes from 600 schools in the island.
This is the fifth consecutive sponsorship of Ceylon Biscuits towards
the popular meet. "Ritzbury has always been in the forefront in
uplifting young athletes of the country, and we are glad to extend our
support towards the success of the country's oldest school athletics
championship for the fifth consecutive year.," said CBL Group General
Manager (Marketing) Theja Peiris at the press briefing held at Cinnamon
Lakeside last week. |
