Seminar on SL-Maldives trade

The High Commissioner of Maldives Madam Zahiya Zareer will be the guest speaker at a seminar on 'Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and the Maldives' organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka October 20 from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. at the Chamber auditorium.

The participants will get an opportunity to interact with the High Commissioner of the Maldives and officials of the Maldives High Commission.

Tourism, Maldives' largest economic sector, accounts for nearly 30% of GDP and more than 60% of foreign exchange receipts. Fishing is the second leading sector. Due to increase in the Maldives Fish which account for approximately 50%, imports have doubled in 2015.
