La Trobe University delegation in Colombo
Sri Lankan students who have graduated from the La Trobe University (LTU),
Australia are assets to countries in which they serve, Head of La Trobe
Business School (LBS), Prof. Paul Mather said in Colombo last week
Prof. Mather who led a delegation from LTU to Sri Lanka, said many
Sri Lankan PHD students are making vital contributions to industries and
the academia across the world. "We are proud of these students who are
real assets."
"A plethora of opportunities have been opened up for Sri Lankan
students at the LTU through numerous study programs offered by the
university to excel in diverse fields.
The university has helped strengthen relations between Sri Lanka and
Australia which a preferred destination for higher studies," Prof.
Mather said.
He said LTU constantly endeavours to engage with key countries in the
region and keep creating enhanced opportunities for students. Our new
offerings and scholarship should help students from Sri Lanka to gain
maximum benefits from the expertise within LBS. "We have maintained
relations with the University of Moratuwa and the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Sri Lanka who support us in our programs," Prof. Mather
said.
He said it is projected that by 2018, the US market alone with
require additional 140,000-190,00 analytics professionals and around 1.5
million managers with knowledge in analytics.
