BSC Founder’s Day

celebrated in style:

The British School in Colombo (BSC) celebrated its 22nd Founder’s Day recently, with enthusiasm and delight. Students from Nursery to Grade 12 gathered in the basketball courts to put up a series of enthusiastic performances while proud parents and teachers looked on.

BSC has since its inception, sought to provide an all round education so that pupils leave this school prepared to be the leaders of their generation. The school truly does educate mind, body and soul. The founders of the school wanted to establish a community in which each member would find the opportunity to pursue his or her goals in the manner and at the pace best suited to his or her abilities.

From the outset, the founders of BSC wanted the school to focus on more than simple exam grades. It was enshrined in the early vision of the school to build a school in which students could learn and flourish within a context where arts, music, sports and personal development were all equally valued. The progress this school has made to become a leading international school in Colombo is due to the hard work, dedication and commitment of staff, parents and students for the past 21 year.
