Thanthirimalaya

Gunarathnage Nadeeka Dilhani, a 27-year-old mother of two, was killed by a wild jumbo at Dangaswewa, Thanthirimalaya. Her two children, aged 7 and 3, who were injured were admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital.

Galgamuwa

A 76-year-old person, R.H.M.U. Kirimudiyanse of Vanniamunukole, Galgamuwa was killed by a wild elephant. Galgamuwa police is conducting investigations.

Ahungalla

A private bus veered off the Galle-Colombo main road at Wathuregama, Ahungalla and knocked against a wall causing serious injuries to a woman pedestrian.

She died after admission to the Balapitiya Hospital. The victim was Hettiyahandi Ayesha Madhushani (23) of Makumbura, Ahungalla.

The driver has been taken into custody by the police.
