Ghost talk

It is interesting to read what Padma Edirisinghe writes on many a varied subject under the sun.

Of course what she has written about ghosts under ‘Musings’ may be somewhat amusing to sceptics who do not believe in the existence of ghosts. Being interested in the occult, I have made a study of this subject and I am continued that ghosts do exist though they are not seen by all, including myself. It is interesting to note that even the Discovery Channel showed many a ghost story.

When I told an astrological friend of mine that I am convinced of the existence of ghosts though I have not seen them he told me that I might be the Rassa ganey type in my horoscope. According to him there are two other types Manussa ganey and Devaganey and Rassa ganey people do not see ghosts. May be the ghosts are afraid of Rassa ganey.

He asked me to check my horoscope to see whether I belong to Rassa ganey, and my surprise it was so.

To come back to Padma Edirisinghe, she has come across ghosts on two occasions. One time the ghost was in a Saravita kit and she wonders how the ghost managed to get the Saravita kit, whether it was available in the ghost world.

Well, the secret is that the ghosts always appear in the form of their last existence in this world. It is their attire and appearance.

There is also a picture of a ghost published with the article written. Most probably it was taken with a Kirillian camera. These wonderful beings the ghosts seem to pose only for a kirilian camera.

So also the devas. Thanks to Mr. Kirilian who invented the high powered camera named after him. If not for him we would never have been able to see pictures of ghosts and perhaps devas too. Some such pictures of ghosts are found in a small book by the Ven. Kiribathgoda Gunananda Thera.

Public sector corruption

Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Lasantha Alagiyawanne MP has admitted the parliamentary watchdog committee lacked authority at least to make available its findings pertaining to massive corruption and irregularities at State institutions to law enforcement authorities.

Deputy Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, Alagiyawanne said that PAC could not direct the police or any other institutions with investigative powers to conduct probes.

The PAC in its report, faulted the Agriculture Ministry for renting a private building for Rs 958 million without following proper procedures.

The committee alleged that the customs has failed to collect taxes to the tune of Rs 1,886 million from several State institutions. The committee has revealed the disappearance of files maintained at the Registrar of Motor Vehicles pertaining to 597 vehicles.

The Registrar of Motor Vehicles has also faulted for utilizing Rs 740 million for e-monitoring project for another without obtaining approval.

People of this country are very sad and disappointed to hear stories like this.

We must thank Deputy Minister Alagiyawanne for exposing these weaknesses and irregularities of our law making and law enforcing machinery.

We hope those who are having power and those who are responsible will take immediate action to correct these anomalies. We have appointed them to correct these lapses.

Correcting and improving these law making and law enforcing machinery are much more important than making hours of meaningless political speeches.
