Wesley wins Zahira Soccer Sevens

The Past Prefects Association (PPA) of Zahira College Colombo
organized the Zahira Super Sixteen Soccer 7s 2016 tournament for the
12th consecutive year at the Zahira College grounds, Colombo yesterday.
In the final Wesley College beat Zahira College Colombo 3-2 in a
penalty shootout after the teams drew nil-all at full time.
Mohamed Safraz of Zahira College Colombo received the Most Valuable
Player award and Wesley College's Mohamed Nifraz received Best Goal
Keeper's award.
The teams that participated in the tournament were: Al Adhan Badulla
, St. Benedict's College, De Mazenod College Kandana, Hindu College
Colombo, Isipathana College, St .Joseph's College, Maris Stella College
Negombo, Mannippai Hindu College Jaffna ,St. Mary's College Kegalle,
Nalanda College, St Peter's College, Royal College Colombo, Trinity
College, Wesley College, Zahira College Colombo and Zahira College
Gampola. Wesley was presented with the champion trophy and Rs. 50,000 by
chief guest and main sponsor of the tournament Head of Sales Diary
Sector Cargills Ceylon PLC Mohantha Karunaratne.
