Trade, investment promotion mission to Dubai The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce(CCC) having identified Dubai as a lucrative market for Sri Lankan products, organised a trade and investment promotion mission recently in association with Bandula Somasiri, Consul General for Sri Lanka in Dubai. The objective of this mission was to strengthen trade ties, source suitable business partners, promote joint ventures, investment, and services and offer an opportunity to the delegation to view the products displayed at the global village. The 15 member delegation was accompanied by mission leader, Patrick Rodrigo, Assistant General Manager, Walker Sons and Co. Ltd. and mission manager, Puvi Domingopillai, Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Chamber. The delegates represented sectors such as tea, rubber, coconut, spices, foodstuff, textiles, footwear, coir products, light engineering products and services such as freight forwarding engineering and architectural consultancy services, manpower recruitment and inbound tours. The delegation met with the members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sri Lankan Business Council in Dubai, which offered them opportunities to source suitable business contacts. They were also afforded the opportunity of displaying their products at the Premadasa Display Centre which has been established to promote Sri Lankan products there. The CCC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was signed by Ahmed Al Banna, Assistant Director General on behalf of the Dubai Chamber and CCC's Ms. Domingopillai. |
