"Nompere" a journal for cricket umpires will be published soon and the first edition will be ceremonially issued on April 17 at 2.30 pm at the Conference Hall, Ministry of Mass Media 18th Floor, World Trade Centre, West Floor.

"Nompere" is a French version for man above all of dignity and fair play meaning an umpire in a cricket match. The journal will be put out quarterly paying emphasis on the technical points, interpretations, and reference to incidents to make the umpire aware of his duties.

The journal is edited by former Test umpire Camillus Perera and is the conception of the present secretery D. A. S. Dissanayake and will be available free of charge.
