Officer killed, as militants attack Kashmir security camp JAMMU, India, Friday (AFP) Muslim militants attacked a security camp in Indian-administered Kashmir on Friday, killing a security officer and injuring two others, a defence spokesman said. The incident took place around 5:00 am (2330 GMT Thursday) when a group of militants attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) camp with "rockets and automatic weapons," the spokesman said. The camp of the 136th company of BSF was situated at Kalakote, in the border district of Rajouri, 150 kilometres (90 miles) northwest of Jammu, Kashmir's winter capital. One BSF sub-inspector was killed on the spot while two other officers have been injured. "The militants attacked from a hilltop," a BSF spokesman said. "The officers have been shifted to the hospital. The area has been cordoned off and fighting is still on." |
