American Accountancy courses in Sri Lanka Review courses of the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) and Certified Public Accountants (CPA) of the USA will soon be introduced in Sri Lanka through one of the management accounting institutes. They will be introduced with the co-sponsorship of Becker Review Courses of America, said Akram Abdul Samad, Branch Coordinator for the programs. He has listed Whycherly Wisdom Academy to conduct classes for the CMA and CPA of America. "CMA and CPA are highly recognised all over the world. They also provide marketability and international mobility. So Lankan students will be in an advantageous position by following them," Samad, who has worked closely with Becker Review and received special training on CMA and CPA in Saudi Arabia, said. CMA, which was introduced in 1990, is an online examination for which students can sit from anywhere in the world. The subjects covered are Economics, Finance and Management; Financial Accounting and Reporting; Management Reporting, Analysis and Behavioral Issues; and Decision Analysis and Information Systems. CPA covers Financial and Accounting Reporting and Business Enterprise; Accounting Reporting - Tax, Managerial, Government and Non-profit; Business Law and Professional Responsibility; and Auditing. Samad is a financial analyst at KOLON Samsung, a Korean multinational company based in Galle. |
