Navy foils abduction of schoolgirls Two LTTE women cadres, caught in the act of trying to abduct two girls in school uniform in Trincomalee on Friday evening, were arrested by the Navy. Navy personnel on duty at the Sambaltivu check point had observed four women trying to forcibly take two 14-year-old girls. Two LTTE women managed to escape. Investigations have revealed that the girls were to be taken to an LTTE training camp. The two were on their way home from school were later handed over to their parents by the Navy and the other two LTTE women cadres were handed over to Kuchchaveli police military sources said. RK |
